Gevo joins up with Total Cray Valley to develop

        renewable isoamylene

           US-based renewable chemicals
expert. Gevo, has signed a joint
        development agreement with Total
Cray Valley, part of the French oil &
gas giant’s polymers division, to up-
grade fusel oils from ethanol produc-
        tion into renewable isoamylene.

           Isoamylene is predominately used
in a diverse set of applications, in-
        cluding resins, pesticides, flavours
        and fragrances, pharmaceuticals,
        healthcare products, adhesives, anti-
        oxidants, and UV stabilisers.
           “This collaboration is a spinoff
of Gevo’s chemical-based catalytic or isobutanol production, into renew- waste feedstock and this alliance
processes that selectively converts able isoprene, ketones, aldehydes, or will be another move towards the
low-value fusel oils, a mixture of alco- olefins. Fusel oils from the ethanol delivery of low carbon sustainable

Henkel acquires patented skin model technology

           Germany’s Henkel has closed the
acquisition of a patented skin model
        technology from SkinInVitro. The
epiCS skin models will be manufactured
in the Henkel laboratories in Dussel-
